Acharya Mahakshamanji Emphasises Non-Violence and Self-Control in Spiritual Life

Acharya Mahakshamanji, a revered Jain leader, has travelled over 60,000 kilometres across India, spreading the message of non-violence and self-discipline. His recent entry into Chaturmas, a significant four-month period for Jain monks, was celebrated at the Praksha Vishwabharati in Gandhinagar. During this time, he will engage with the community and offer spiritual guidance.

At the event, Governor Acharya Devvrat highlighted the importance of actions in shaping our happiness or sorrow. He stated that true religion leads to individual happiness and the happiness of others. He explained that the principles of non-violence, compassion, and tolerance are foundational to a peaceful society.

Acharya Mahakshamanji has committed his life to helping others, particularly the youth. His work focuses on guiding them away from addiction and promoting the values of kindness and respect for all living beings. He noted that non-violence is not just about physical actions but also about our thoughts and words towards others.

The Chaturmas period is a time when Jain monks stay in one place to share knowledge and wisdom. Acharya Devvrat expressed joy that Mahakshamanji would be in Gandhinagar for this time, allowing people to learn from him.

The Governor also referenced the yoga teachings of Maharishi Patanjali, which provide a path for spiritual advancement. He stressed that these teachings, including the principles of non-violence, truth, and self-control, are essential for everyone’s growth.

Acharya Mahakshamanji explained that true religion is about elevating the human spirit and making life pure. He emphasised that there are three primary aspects of religion: non-violence, self-control, and penance. These principles serve as a guide for treating all living beings with respect and dignity.

During the event, many followers, including prominent Jain figures, gathered to witness and support Mahakshamanji’s teachings. His journey across India has inspired many, as he continues to spread the message of peace and spirituality.
