In addition to the essential documentation, the second control room also manages the embalming process if needed and prepares the body for transport. Various desks have been set up at this location to expedite the paperwork:
• Police Desk: Prepares all necessary police documents, including the accidental death report.
• Forensic Medicine Department Desk: Issues post-mortem reports and death notes promptly.
• Air India Desk: Assists with necessary documents for insurance claims.
• Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Desk: Issues death certificates and makes immediate corrections if there are any errors.
The hospital aims to complete all documentation within 15 to 20 minutes, allowing for a dignified handover of the deceased to their families. Ambulances and a government-appointed support team are on standby at the mortuary to assist families in their journey back home.
This entire process is part of the Civil Hospital’s commitment to support each bereaved family during such a difficult time. The government and hospital administration are working diligently to ensure that the victims receive a respectful farewell.
