This initiative shows the Mandal’s commitment to reducing plastic waste in railway premises and trains. Special events, including pledge-taking and rallies, are planned from May 22 to 24. These events aim to raise awareness among railway employees and the general public. During this time, efforts will be made to assess, dispose of, and manage plastic waste. A digital awareness campaign will also run on social media.

Awareness materials will be displayed at various railway stations, offices, and coaches. Workshops will be organised to promote reducing plastic usage and recycling. People will be encouraged to adopt reusable options through campaigns like ‘Carry Your Water Bottle’. From May 25 to 27, a cleanliness drive will include activities related to waste segregation and recycling.

In collaboration with local communities and NGOs, awareness programs will be held, and pamphlets will be distributed. The Ahmedabad Mandal is striving for a cleaner and greener future through these approaches. The campaign will continue until World Environment Day on June 5, 2025.

Plastic pollution is a major issue affecting our environment. It harms wildlife and pollutes our natural resources. This campaign aims to educate people about the importance of reducing plastic use. By taking small steps, individuals can make a big difference.

The Ahmedabad Mandal’s campaign includes a range of activities. These activities focus on educating the community about the harmful effects of plastic. They will also encourage the use of alternatives to plastic. Workshops will teach people how to recycle and manage waste properly.

The pledge-taking ceremony will involve railway employees and community members. Participants will commit to reducing their plastic footprint. The rallies will aim to spread the message wider, reaching more people in the community.

The digital campaign will engage younger audiences on social media. It will share tips on reducing plastic use and highlight the importance of recycling. The aim is to create a buzz around the campaign and inspire action.

The initiative is part of a larger effort by Indian Railways to modernise and make its operations environmentally friendly. By reducing plastic waste, the railway aims to contribute to a cleaner environment. The Ahmedabad Mandal’s efforts are part of a nationwide movement to combat plastic pollution.

In addition to this campaign, Indian Railways is also working on upgrading stations across the country. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme aims to develop 1,309 railway stations with modern facilities. This will improve the travel experience for passengers while ensuring sustainability.

The Western Railway has identified 120 stations for upgrades, with several in Gujarat. This includes enhancing facilities and providing better access for passengers. The goal is to create a seamless travel experience for everyone.

The Ahmedabad Mandal’s campaign against plastic pollution is a commendable step. It highlights the importance of community involvement in tackling environmental issues. With the participation of railway employees and the public, the campaign hopes to leave a lasting impact.

In conclusion, the Ahmedabad Mandal’s campaign is an essential initiative. It raises awareness about plastic pollution and encourages positive action.
