A new video has surfaced from the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad that occurred on June 12. The footage shows medical college students jumping from the third and fourth floors of their hostel building. The Air India flight crashed into a mess building, causing significant damage and fire to nearby hostel buildings. Many students trapped inside used bedsheets to escape. In the video, students can be seen trying to descend from a balcony, while flames engulf both sides of the building, and smoke billows everywhere.

After the crash, several hostel buildings caught fire. Fearful students saw the flames and tried to jump from the balcony. They quickly tied bedsheets together to safely lower themselves from the fourth floor to the third and then to the first floor.

Another video has emerged featuring the only survivor of the crash, Vishwas Ramesh Kumar Bhaliya. In this video, he is seen walking away from the crash site, while flames rage behind him. Bystanders shout as he walks out of the medical hostel campus, phone in hand, before someone helps him get to an ambulance. On the day of the crash, he appeared injured and limping, but he managed to escape.

On June 12, Air India flight AI-171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after takeoff at 1:40 PM. It was carrying 230 passengers, including 169 Indians, 53 British, 7 Portuguese, and one Canadian citizen, along with 12 crew members. Tragically, 241 people lost their lives, and only Vishwas survived. Additionally, 30 others, including five doctors, were also killed in the incident.

The plane crashed just two minutes after takeoff, resulting in a devastating fire that engulfed the medical college campus. The incident shocked the entire nation, leading to expressions of sorrow from many, including the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Even the US President expressed condolences for the victims’ families.

In a show of respect, tech giant Google altered its homepage to include a black ribbon in memory of those lost in the crash. The ribbon displayed a message of mourning for the victims.

TATA has announced a financial compensation of 1 crore rupees for the families of the deceased. This announcement comes as the company expresses its grief over the tragedy.
