Ahmedabad Police Prepares for 148th Jagannath Rath Yatra with Bullet March

Ahmedabad is gearing up for the 148th annual Jagannath Rath Yatra, set to take place on June 27. In preparation, the Ahmedabad police conducted a ‘Bullet March’ on Monday night to inspect security arrangements along the designated procession route. The march started at 10:30 PM, with around 100 police officers patrolling the main roads on bullet motorcycles. This initiative aims to ensure law and order during the festivities.

The Bullet March was inaugurated by Mahant Leelijandi at the Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur. Senior police officials and temple trustees were also present at the event. The route for the Rath Yatra includes key areas such as Jamalpur, Khadiya, Panchkuva, Kalupur, Saraspur, Premdarwaja, Dariyapur, Delhi Chakla, Shahpur, and Manek Chowk, all leading back to the temple.

Senior officials shared that the Bullet March serves dual purposes. Firstly, it builds trust among the public. Secondly, it familiarizes officers with sensitive areas along the procession route. Prior to the event, police checked various sensitive points along the route to identify any necessary improvements.

The Ahmedabad police expect millions of devotees to attend the 148th Rath Yatra. To manage this large crowd, they have implemented a multi-layered security system. This includes AI-based surveillance, traffic diversions, drone monitoring, and anti-sabotage checks. The police will use AI-equipped cameras to gather information on crowd sizes at specific locations in real-time.

This technology will allow officers to monitor the number of people in a certain area within seconds. They will also keep an eye on any suspicious individuals along the route. In the days leading up to the event, local agencies and temple management will hold additional coordination meetings to ensure a peaceful and incident-free celebration.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra is a significant event for the city, attracting thousands of devotees and tourists. The police are dedicated to maintaining safety and order during this festive time. With their proactive measures, they aim to provide a secure environment for all participants and onlookers.

As the date approaches, excitement is building in Ahmedabad. People are preparing to celebrate this vibrant festival, which is filled with religious significance and cultural heritage. The city’s efforts to ensure safety reflect its commitment to the well-being of its citizens and visitors alike, making the Jagannath Rath Yatra a joyous and secure occasion for everyone involved.
