Ahmedabad Police Prepares for Jagannath Rath Yatra with Bullet March

Ahmedabad is getting ready for the 148th annual Jagannath Rath Yatra. This event will take place on June 27. To ensure safety and security, the police conducted a ‘Bullet March’ on Monday night. This march was part of their preparations for the yatra. It started from the Jagannath Temple located in Jamalpur. The goal was to inspect the security arrangements along the route.

Around 100 police officers participated in the Bullet March. They rode on Bullet motorcycles to patrol the main roads of the yatra. The march began at 10:30 PM on June 9. Senior police officials and temple trustees were present during the event. The route for the yatra includes Jamalpur, Khadia, Panchkuva, Kalupur, Saraspur, Premdarwaja, Dariyapur, Delhi Chakla, Shahpur, and Manek Chowk, returning to the temple.

Senior officials explained that the Bullet March has two main purposes. First, it aims to build trust among the public. Second, it helps police officers become familiar with sensitive areas along the yatra route. Before the yatra, the police checked these sensitive points to ensure everything is in order.

The police expect millions of devotees will attend the 148th Rath Yatra. To manage this large crowd, they have set up multi-layered security. This includes AI-based surveillance, traffic diversions, drone monitoring, and anti-sabotage checks. Drones will help monitor the route using AI-enabled cameras. They can provide real-time information about crowd sizes at specific locations.

The police will also keep an eye on any suspicious individuals along the route. In the coming days, more meetings are planned with civic agencies and temple management. These meetings aim to ensure a peaceful and incident-free event. Everyone is working hard to make the yatra safe and enjoyable for all participants.

The Jagannath Rath Yatra is a significant event for the people of Ahmedabad. It brings together communities and showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region. As preparations continue, the police and local authorities remain committed to ensuring the safety of all devotees. The Bullet March is just one example of their dedication to public safety.

In summary, the Ahmedabad police are taking extensive measures to prepare for the Jagannath Rath Yatra. The Bullet March is a proactive step to assess and enhance security along the route. With the expected turnout of millions, every effort is being made to ensure a smooth and secure celebration. The community looks forward to this vibrant festival filled with devotion and joy.
