The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Ahmedabad has launched a special campaign to improve traffic management and provide better facilities for passengers at the railway station. This initiative comes in response to the growing issue of illegal parking in the circulating area of the station. Many taxis and auto-rickshaws were parked in designated no-parking zones, causing traffic jams and inconvenience for travellers.
To tackle this situation, the RPF seized a total of 14 taxis and auto-rickshaws that were parked illegally. Legal action is being taken against the drivers under the Railway Act. The RPF has made it clear that any disorder, chaos, or violation of rules will not be tolerated at the railway station. The station is a public service hub where order, peace, and security are paramount.
Drivers who choose to ignore the parking regulations will face strict actions, and RPF surveillance will continue to ensure that similar activities do not occur in the future. This crackdown is part of the railway authorities’ ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and orderly environment for all passengers.
In addition to these measures, the Ahmedabad railway station is undergoing renovation to enhance its facilities and make it a world-class railway station. This renovation work is expected to bring significant changes, including alterations in train schedules. Starting from January 23, some trains arriving from and departing to Mumbai will operate from the Maninagar and Vatva railway stations instead of the main Ahmedabad station. To facilitate this change, AMTS buses will be arranged for passengers travelling to and from Vatva station.
Passengers are advised to pay attention to these changes in train timings and routes. For more detailed information regarding train schedules, stops, and services, passengers can check the official Indian Railways website at www.enquiry.indianrail.gov.in.
The Ahmedabad railway station, known as the main railway station of the city, is the busiest in Gujarat. It is a crucial part of the Western Railway division, generating substantial revenue. The station features several platforms, food stalls, medical shops, and inquiry centres, making it a bustling hub of activity.
As part of its customer-friendly initiatives, the station provides facilities like free Wi-Fi, trolleys for luggage transport, and special services for the elderly and disabled. The RPF’s efforts to regulate parking and maintain order at the station are vital to ensuring that passengers have a safe and pleasant experience while travelling.
