Ahmedabad is set to enhance its urban landscape with the development of an iconic road from ISKCON Circle to Pakwan Junction. As part of the preparations for the 2036 Olympics, the city is investing in various infrastructure projects, including the creation of electric charging stations at the Naranpura Sports Complex. The iconic road will feature well-lit pathways to ensure safety for all, especially during nighttime. With an investment of approximately ₹6 crore, the project will also include landscaping and the planting of various trees. The project aligns with the ongoing Sabarmati River Cleanliness Campaign, where over 100,000 volunteers contributed to making the river cleaner. This campaign has seen significant participation from various NGOs, educational institutions, banks, and corporate entities, all working together to achieve a cleaner environment.
The cleanliness efforts have yielded impressive results, with a total of 945 metric tonnes of waste collected, including plastics, textiles, and wood. This initiative is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Ahmedabad.
The Sabarmati Cleanliness Campaign will conclude on June 5, marking a significant milestone in the city’s commitment to sustainability and cleanliness.
