Ahmedabad to Develop Iconic Road from ISKCON to Pakwan Junction

Ahmedabad is set to enhance its urban landscape with the development of an iconic road from ISKCON Circle to Pakwan Junction. This project is part of a broader initiative by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to improve the city’s entry points. The project aims to create a visually appealing road that will include decorative lighting and green spaces.

The first phase of this development will transform the service road from ISKCON Circle to Pakwan Junction into an inviting entry point for the city. The plan includes installing aesthetically pleasing light poles and decorative fittings along the road. These enhancements will not only beautify the road but also improve the overall experience for pedestrians and drivers alike.

As part of the preparations for the 2036 Olympics, the city is investing in various infrastructure projects, including the creation of electric charging stations at the Naranpura Sports Complex. This will make it easier for electric vehicle owners to charge their cars in the area, promoting eco-friendly transportation.

The iconic road will feature well-lit pathways to ensure safety for all, especially during nighttime. Families, youngsters, and elderly residents will find it easier to enjoy the outdoors along this road. The area is envisioned to become a picnic spot where people can relax and enjoy the surroundings.

With an investment of approximately ₹6 crore, the project will also include landscaping and the planting of various trees. This will provide shade during the hot summer months and create a pleasant environment for those walking or jogging along the footpaths. The footpaths will be designed to accommodate children playing, as well as offering a safe walking track for all ages.

The project aligns with the ongoing Sabarmati River Cleanliness Campaign, where over 100,000 volunteers contributed to making the river cleaner. This campaign has seen significant participation from various NGOs, educational institutions, banks, and corporate entities, all working together to achieve a cleaner environment.

The cleanliness efforts have yielded impressive results, with a total of 945 metric tonnes of waste collected, including plastics, textiles, and wood. This initiative is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Ahmedabad.

The Sabarmati Cleanliness Campaign will conclude on June 5, marking a significant milestone in the city’s commitment to sustainability and cleanliness.

In summary, the development of the iconic road from ISKCON to Pakwan Junction is an exciting project that aims to enhance Ahmedabad’s urban environment. This initiative will provide a beautiful and functional space for residents and visitors, promoting a sense of community and encouraging outdoor activities. With the ongoing efforts towards cleanliness and sustainable living, Ahmedabad is moving towards a brighter and greener future.
