In Ahmedabad, the Primary Education Committee has celebrated a successful school admission festival. This year, 32,790 children have enrolled in Balvatika and Standard 1 classes. The festival has shown a positive trend in education for young ones in the city.
Out of the total, 13,668 children have joined Balvatika. This includes 6,818 boys and 6,850 girls. Additionally, 19,122 children have enrolled in Standard 1, with 9,574 boys and 9,548 girls.
The festival has also resulted in 3,246 children leaving private schools to join municipal schools in Ahmedabad. This shift includes 1,706 boys and 1,540 girls. The municipal corporation has various schools, including English, Urdu, Hindi, and Gujarati.
In the English medium school, 495 children have transferred. The Urdu school welcomed 52 children. In the Hindi medium, 170 children joined, while the Gujarati school saw 2,529 children making the switch from private institutions.
This initiative aims to improve access to quality education for all children. The committee hopes to continue this trend in the coming years.
