Air India Expands Reach with New Interline Partnerships

Air India, India’s leading global airline, has announced four significant interline partnerships today. This move will enhance connectivity to Europe, especially the Baltic region, Eastern Europe, and parts of Central Asia. With these partnerships, Air India passengers will now have seamless travel options to 16 new destinations across six countries in these regions. Furthermore, travelers from partner airlines will also find it easier to reach India.

Air India signed the interline agreements with Air Baltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways, and Uzbekistan Airways at the 81st IATA AGM held in New Delhi. This expansion strengthens Air India’s position as a global connector, allowing travelers to explore multiple continents on a single ticket. This includes coordinated baggage allowances and handling with the partner airlines.

**Convenient One-Stop Connectivity**

1. **Air Baltic**: Through Air India’s European gateways in Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Gatwick, Milan-Malpensa, Vienna, Zurich, and Dubai, passengers can now easily reach Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), and Vilnius (Lithuania).

2. **Bulgaria Air**: Travelers can access Sofia from London Heathrow, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Milan, Zurich, and Tel Aviv via Air India’s gateways. This will support connections to other vibrant Eastern European cities like Varna and Burgas.

3. **Cyprus Airways**: This service allows flights to Larnaca (Cyprus) through Air India’s gateways in Paris, Milan, and Dubai, opening up important cultural and economic hubs in the Mediterranean for Indian travelers.

4. **Uzbekistan Airways**: Passengers can fly from Delhi, Mumbai, and Goa to Tashkent, with further connections to Bukhara, Karshi, Nukus, Urgench, Termez, Samarkand, Fergana, and Namangan.

In addition to these connections, Air India will provide convenient access to over 30 Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa, and Kochi, for passengers flying with its partner airlines.

Mr Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, stated, “These four new interline partnerships will significantly enhance Air India’s global reach. They will open up seamless routes to vibrant cities in some of the most important emerging markets today. Our partnerships with Air Baltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways, and Uzbekistan Airways offer more travel options and comfort for our clients, further strengthening India’s position as a key global aviation hub.”

Travelers can book these interline connections through Air India’s website (www.airindia.com), mobile app, or via travel agents worldwide. This initiative marks a significant step in Air India’s ongoing efforts to improve its services and expand its international footprint, following its re-privatization under the Tata Group.

With a focus on enhancing its operational efficiency and expanding its service offerings, Air India continues to invest in its fleet and technology. This includes a record order of 470 aircraft, aiming to modernize operations and meet growing travel demands. As the airline navigates its transformation journey, these new partnerships represent a vital part of its strategy to attract more international travelers and improve connectivity for passengers from India to global destinations. The future looks promising as Air India aims to position itself as a preferred choice for international travel.
