In a significant police operation, the Netrang police seized a large quantity of Indian-made foreign liquor hidden in a house in Zarana Forest, located in the Netrang Taluka of Bharuch district. A man named Haresh Manga Vasava was arrested, while another accomplice, Pradip Ratilal Vasava, was declared wanted by the authorities.
The operation was part of a larger strategy to maintain law and order in the district and to combat illegal activities such as alcohol smuggling and gambling. The police received a tip-off that Haresh had brought in a stash of liquor and hidden it at his residence.
During a patrol led by Police Inspector R.C. Vasava, the team followed up on the tip. They arrived at the location and conducted a raid. Haresh was present at the house when the police arrived. Upon searching his home, officers discovered a stash of liquor bottles concealed under fodder in a front open area of the house.
In total, the police recovered 864 bottles of liquor, valued at approximately ₹2,70,400, along with a mobile phone. Haresh was taken into custody, and his accomplice, Pradip, was later declared wanted for his role in the liquor smuggling operation. Both individuals are facing legal action as a result of this incident.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the police to tackle illegal alcohol trade in the region, ensuring that such activities do not undermine public safety and order. The police have committed to continuing their surveillance and operations to curb illegal activities, including gambling and smuggling, in the area.
