The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is set to introduce a new online application system. This move aims to speed up property assessments and resolve complaints about delays. Many residents, especially those with newly built homes, have faced long wait times for property assessments. Currently, these assessments are conducted every four years, ward by ward. However, the process often leads to frustration. To address this issue, the AMC has designed a digital platform. This platform allows citizens to apply for property assessments directly.
Revenue Committee chairman Aniruddhasinh Zala and deputy chairman Pradeep Dave highlighted the benefits of the new system. They stated that it is specifically designed for those who need quicker billing and measurement services. The application process is straightforward. Applicants can visit the AMC website and enter their property details. This includes the type of property, its area, and any necessary documents like sale deeds.
Once the application is submitted, the system will generate an estimated property tax bill. An AMC official will then visit the property within seven days. They will verify the documents and conduct the necessary measurements. After this verification, a final property tax bill will be issued.
This new system aims to make the property assessment process more efficient. With the app, residents can expect a faster and simpler way to manage their property assessments. The AMC hopes that this will reduce the backlog of pending assessments and improve overall service.
