In Banaskantha district, Anganwadi workers have expressed their anger over being assigned additional responsibilities related to the work of Block Level Officers (BLOs). Despite a High Court order stating that Anganwadi workers should not take on work outside of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), they have been tasked with these new duties.
Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in providing nutrition and education to children aged 0 to 6 years, as well as support for mothers and adolescent girls. Their workload has increased significantly, and many workers are now required to perform tasks using personal mobile phones, as they do not have government-issued devices.
