In a shocking incident in Mehsana city, an 11-year-old girl has been a victim of attempted sexual assault. The police have registered a complaint at the A Division police station in Mehsana. According to the police report, a young man named Sureshji Rajiji Thakor has been accused of this crime. The accused allegedly molested the girl a month and a half ago in the parking area of her flat while she was in an auto-rickshaw. The suspect had been following the girl as she went to school. A month earlier, he gave her his mobile number and pressured her to call him. He threatened her that if she did not call, he would kill her and also commit suicide. When the girl’s mother learned about the incident, she promptly filed a police report. Charges have been filed against the accused under sections 75(2), 78(2), 351(2) of the Indian Penal Code and under sections 8 and 12 of the POCSO Act.
