In the Bhavnagar division of the Western Railway, there have been many incidents of animals coming onto railway tracks. According to Atul Kumar Tripathi, the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, not only do animals cause obstructions on the tracks, but they also increase the risk of accidents. He stressed the need for villagers around the railway tracks to remain alert. The railway administration is educating villagers about the dangers of crossing railway tracks. This is especially important for livestock owners who might let their animals graze near the tracks. If someone is found guilty of crossing the railway tracks, it is considered a punishable offense. People are being warned that this crime could lead to life imprisonment. This campaign involves support from village leaders and intellectuals. The railway is currently facing significant challenges due to animals wandering onto the tracks. When animals are hit by trains, it results in huge financial losses for the railway. Such incidents also tarnish the railway’s image. Passengers face difficulties as well, which the railway has to manage. Railway employees are running awareness campaigns in villages and areas near railway lines. They are trying to explain to livestock owners the importance of keeping their animals away from the tracks. There is also a ban on throwing food near railway tracks. Ravi Kumar, the Divisional Railway Manager of Bhavnagar, has requested all livestock owners not to cross the railway tracks themselves and not to let their animals roam free. Crossing railway tracks is a punishable crime, and livestock owners must take care of their animals and not let them stray. The Divisional Railway Manager has also appealed to the public not to throw food items on railway tracks. After an incident involving animals, if a train halts, it causes a backlog of other trains behind it. This leads to delays, causing inconvenience to passengers. The railway is urging everyone to cooperate in ensuring safety around railway tracks. Immediate action is necessary to prevent accidents involving animals and to maintain smooth train operations. The awareness campaign aims to educate the community about the severe consequences of allowing animals near the tracks. It is vital for both safety and the smooth functioning of railway services that this message is understood and acted upon by all concerned.
