Banas Dairy Reduces Animal Feed Prices to Support Farmers

Banas Dairy, a leading cooperative in Gujarat, has announced a significant price reduction for animal feed. Starting from July 1, the price for a bag of Banas animal feed will decrease by ₹80. This means that instead of ₹1580, farmers will now pay ₹1500 for each bag. This decision is expected to benefit around 500,000 livestock farmers in the Banaskantha district. With the annual savings projected at ₹95 crore, this move is widely welcomed by the farming community.

The chairman of Banas Dairy, Shankar Bhai Chaudhary, along with the board of directors, has taken this step to support dairy farmers. The reduced price will help lower the production costs for milk, making it easier for farmers to maintain their livelihoods. The dairy sector plays a crucial role in the economy of Gujarat, and this initiative aims to enhance the financial stability of those involved in animal husbandry.

Farmers have expressed their gratitude for the timely decision. They believe that this price cut will significantly ease their financial burden. The dairy sector is vital in Gujarat, contributing to the state’s agricultural output and providing livelihoods to millions.

Chaudhary stated that the decision reflects the dairy’s commitment to supporting milk producers. The price reduction is part of a broader strategy to ensure that dairy farming remains sustainable and profitable. With the rising costs of feed and other inputs, such measures are essential for the survival of many small-scale farmers.

In addition to the price cut, Banas Dairy has various support programs for farmers, including financial assistance and training to improve dairy farming practices. These initiatives aim to empower farmers by enhancing their skills and knowledge, ultimately leading to increased milk production.

This decision comes at a crucial time when many farmers are facing challenges due to fluctuating market prices. The reduction in feed costs is expected to have a positive ripple effect, encouraging more farmers to invest in their livestock and improve their productivity.

Overall, Banas Dairy’s decision to reduce animal feed prices is a positive development for the agricultural community in Gujarat. It demonstrates a proactive approach to support farmers and ensure the long-term sustainability of the dairy industry. As the state continues to develop its agricultural sector, initiatives like this are vital for improving the livelihoods of farmers and maintaining the growth of the dairy industry.
