In Banaskantha district, over 392,000 farmers have successfully registered under the AgriStack project. This achievement places the district second in the state with a registration rate of 78.53%. According to the latest figures, out of 500,391 farmers in the district, 392,971 have completed their registration. This significant effort is guided by District Collector Mihir Patel. The Agriculture Department, led by District Development Officer M.J. Dave, has conducted a special campaign at the village, taluka, and district levels.
The farmer registration is an essential digital platform for farmers. It allows them to benefit from various government schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Minimum Support Price, and the National Agriculture Market. This registration acts like an Aadhaar card, providing farmers with a digital identity. It simplifies access to agricultural and financial services.
The district administration has urged remaining farmers to complete their registration as soon as possible. This initiative aims to ensure that all farmers can take advantage of these valuable schemes and services. The digital identity will not only enhance their credibility but also streamline the process of obtaining financial assistance and resources.
In addition to the registration efforts, the region is preparing for upcoming rainfall. Forecasts indicate that Gujarat will experience rain over the next seven days, with heavy showers expected in Chhota Udepur and Narmada on the 22nd. Farmers are advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops. The combination of a robust registration process and timely weather updates will greatly assist farmers in managing their agricultural activities effectively. With this strategic approach, the Banaskantha district aims to empower its farmers and boost the local economy.
