Baroda Dairy MD Resigns Amid Fraud Allegations

In a shocking turn of events, Ajay Joshi, the Managing Director of Baroda Dairy, has resigned from his position. This decision comes in the wake of serious allegations of fraud within the dairy. The Baroda Dairy board has accepted his resignation, raising concerns over transparency and management within the organisation.

The allegations revolve around significant misconduct in the financial accounts and operations of the dairy. Ketan Inamdaar, a local legislator, has accused the dairy of siphoning funds under the names of deceased individuals, highlighting a serious breach of trust. Ajit Thakor, another legislator, has also raised multiple accusations against Baroda Dairy’s administration, putting the dairy under intense scrutiny.

Baroda Dairy has faced controversies before, particularly regarding milk pricing. The sudden resignation of the MD has sparked discussions about the management’s accountability. Himanshu Bhatt has been appointed as the new MD, but Ajay Joshi will remain in his position for an additional month to ensure a smooth transition.

The ongoing allegations of corruption at Baroda Dairy have escalated the matter. There are claims from local sources that a job scam has taken place within the dairy. Reports suggest that employees have been collecting money from job applicants under false pretenses. The vigilance department of Baroda Dairy is currently investigating these claims.

This situation has opened a Pandora’s box of issues. The vigilance department has begun contacting victims for statements. It appears that a person named Pritesh Patel has been at the centre of the scam, posing as a personal assistant to the dairy’s director to lure applicants. He allegedly collected around 2 crores from applicants by providing fake appointment letters.

The local BJP president, Satish Nishaliya, has been linked to the scam, but he dismissed the allegations as a conspiracy by opposition parties. The investigation is ongoing, but many are demanding justice for those who fell victim to the scam.

In addition to the fraud allegations, there is unrest regarding milk prices. The Congress party has staged protests against the recent price hikes. Party leaders, including Rutvij Joshi, wore garlands made of empty milk packets to symbolize their opposition. They have demanded the dairy retract the price increases, threatening to escalate their protests if their demands are not met.

The chairman of Baroda Dairy, Dinubhai Maan, stated that the price hikes are a response to rising costs faced by farmers. He insists that the dairy is committed to providing quality milk but acknowledges the financial strains on farmers.

As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Baroda Dairy will navigate these challenges. The dairy’s reputation hangs in the balance as both the job scam and the milk pricing issues continue to draw public attention. The next steps taken by the dairy’s management will be crucial in restoring trust among consumers and stakeholders alike.
