In Sabarkantha district, a blood donation campaign has successfully collected 210 units of blood from ten camps. The campaign included camps at Chitroda and Antarsuba Primary Health Centres. The district health department set a target of 310 camps for this initiative. At the Chitroda health centre, with support from the Himatnagar Red Cross Society and local villagers, 11 units of blood were collected. This blood will be used for pregnant women, sickle cell patients, thalassemia patients, and children with cancer.
At the Antarsuba health centre, CDHO Dr Raj Sutariya and THO Dr Praveen Asari oversaw the collection of 32 units of blood. The Trimurti Voluntary Blood Centre in Idar also provided support for the campaign.
Staff in the tribal areas raised awareness about the importance of blood donation. In total, 210 units were collected across the ten camps held in the district.
In the future, more camps will be organised with the help of social organisations, voluntary groups, and educational institutions. People who wish to donate blood can do so at the camp locations or at the district blood bank.
This campaign highlights the community’s efforts to support those in need through voluntary blood donation. The local health department hopes to continue this important work and encourage more people to participate in future blood donation drives.
