On June 24, 2025, the principal of Refinery Gujarat Board School received an email threatening that a bomb had been placed in the school and it would explode. The principal received the threatening email at around 7:35 AM, but it had been sent the previous day at 6:47 PM.
This incident follows a similar threat received by Navrachna School in the Sama area of Vadodara just a day earlier. That threat also turned out to be a false alarm after an exhaustive three-hour search by the police. Authorities have not found any suspicious items in either case.
Parents were quickly notified about the situation, and students were sent home for their safety. The school management urged parents to remain calm and avoid creating chaos outside the school. Buses and vans were arranged to ensure that students could return home safely.
