Changes in Aarti Schedule at Ambaji Temple for Ashadhi Bij

The famous Ambaji Temple in Gujarat is making changes to its aarti schedule starting from June 27, coinciding with the Ashadhi Bij festival. This decision aims to provide better convenience for the thousands of devotees who visit this sacred site.

Traditionally, the temple would hold three aartis each day. However, now there will only be two aartis. The afternoon aarti will be discontinued, allowing for adjustments in the visiting hours.

The morning aarti will take place from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM. Following the aarti, devotees can begin visiting the temple from 8:00 AM until 11:30 AM. This is an extension from the previous closing time of 10:45 AM.

In the afternoon, the temple will be open for visitors from 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM. The evening aarti will be held from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Furthermore, the temple will remain open for darshan until 9:00 PM.

An important change is that devotees will now be allowed to offer ‘annakut’ (a ceremonial offering of food) to the deity. Previously, this was not permitted.

The temple is known for its unique rituals and the devotion of its visitors. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in India, located in the Banaskantha district. The temple does not have a physical idol, but worships a sacred instrument known as the ‘Visa Yantra’.

Ambaji Temple attracts millions of pilgrims, especially during festivals like Navratri and Ashadhi Bij. The temple is also famous for its light and sound show, which highlights the beauty of the surrounding Gabbar hills.

These changes are expected to enhance the experience for visitors, making it easier for them to participate in the rituals and enjoy their time at one of Gujarat’s most revered spiritual sites.
