In Ahmedabad, the Jain community from Kutch has come together to celebrate the entrance ceremony of Chaturmas led by the revered Guru Dhirgurudev. This event marks the opening of a modern, non-sectarian community centre in Bopal, which is set to be inaugurated on June 22, 2025. The community has planned various service-oriented projects during this period, including medical, educational, and animal welfare initiatives. All activities will be streamed live on YouTube through the DHEER PRAVACHAN DHARA channel.
Recently, during a memorial for victims of a plane crash in Ahmedabad, Guru Dhirgurudev called on everyone to chant mantras for global peace. He emphasized the importance of mantra chanting as a way to awaken both internal and external strengths. On April 9, 2025, millions around the world participated in the chanting of the Navkar Mahamantra, an event acknowledged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address.
Guru Dhirgurudev highlighted that India has the highest number of youth, around 400 million. He believes that if these young people are guided away from addiction through awareness programmes, they can contribute to building a strong and developed nation. The first Chaturmas being hosted in Rajnagar, Ahmedabad, will feature various humanitarian and social welfare activities such as blood donation camps, medical camps, addiction recovery efforts, women’s empowerment, youth empowerment, and educational programmes.
The new community centre built on a 970 square plot at Bopal features six floors and will include facilities such as a medical centre equipped with X-ray machines, ultrasound, mammography, physiotherapy, and dental services. Patients will receive care regardless of caste or community, at very low costs. Mehulbhai Dholakiya, a minister in the Kutch Jain community, expressed gratitude for the efforts of the committee that made this project possible.
The community centre will also host various guest houses, banquet halls, and educational spaces. The opening ceremony will feature a procession starting at 9 AM, followed by a digital inauguration at 9:30 AM. Notable dignitaries from across India, including Jain leaders from Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and other major cities, are expected to attend.
Guru Dhirgurudev’s vision has led to the establishment of numerous community facilities across India, including hostels, schools, and animal shelters. His teachings and community service have inspired many. The philosophy of serving society through such initiatives is central to the Jain way of life.
As we approach the International Day of Peace on September 21, the message from Guru Dhirgurudev is clear: we need to work together towards global peace. Chanting mantras is not just a spiritual activity; it is a call to action for every individual to contribute to a peaceful world. Let us heed this call and take part in this noble effort, ensuring that our voices unite in harmony for a brighter future.
