Chaturmas Welcoming Ceremony of Muniraj Shri Charitraratnavijay Ji Maharaj in Shankheshwar Tirth

The serene Jain town of Shankheshwar Tirth witnessed a grand event on Saturday. Muniraj Shri Charitraratnavijay Ji Maharaj officially began his Chaturmas period, marking a significant occasion for the local Jain community. Devotees from various parts of India, including Japan, gathered in large numbers to partake in this sacred celebration.

The event commenced with a grand procession led by Muniraj Shri Charitraratnavijay Ji Maharaj, a disciple of Jain Acharya Shri Jayantsensurishwarji Maharaj. The procession started from the main temple of Shankheshwar Tirth, winding through the city’s main roads before concluding at the Rajendrasuri Navkar Mandir. This journey was filled with devotion and joy as the community participated wholeheartedly.

The procession featured beautifully decorated chariots carrying images of deities and revered Gurus. Accompanied by horse riders, vibrant dance troupes, and musical bands, the event was a sight to behold. Participants from the women’s groups and various Jain organisations carried ceremonial pots, singing devotional songs as they welcomed the Gurus.

The atmosphere was charged with a sense of unity as people from all faiths joined to celebrate this occasion. The Shankheshwar Jain Sangh, along with local citizens and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), warmly welcomed the procession, reflecting the spirit of harmony in the community.

Following the procession, a religious assembly took place at the Rajendrasuri Navkar Mandir. This assembly featured notable Jain monks, including Acharya Bhagwant Shri Hemchandsuriji Maharaj and Acharya Bhagwant Shri Purnachandsuriji Maharaj. The assembly began with auspicious prayers, filling the hall with spiritual energy.

Musician Kranalbhai Surani performed devotional music, further enhancing the atmosphere of devotion. The religious gathering lasted for nearly three hours, during which the community remained engaged in prayers and activities until its conclusion.

Several dignitaries, including the deputy collector of Patan district and trustees from Jain communities across various states, attended the event. Notably, Tulsi Behn from Japan shared her experiences and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to worship the images of the revered Gurus.

The successful execution of this grand event was credited to the dedicated efforts of the trustees of the Rajendrasuri Navkar Mandir Trust and the local Jain community. Their hard work ensured that the Chaturmas welcoming ceremony was not only memorable but also exemplified the rich traditions of Jainism.
