In a significant achievement, the Ayushman Health Centre in Chikhli has been awarded the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certificate. This honor was given after an assessment by a team from the National Health Resource Centre (NHRC) in Delhi. The assessment took place on April 25 under the guidance of Raj Suthar, the District Development Officer, Dr. Himanshu Gamait, the Deputy District Health Officer, and Dr. Dilipkumar Sharma, the District Quality Assurance Medical Officer. The Chikhli Health Centre scored an impressive 92.68% during this evaluation.
The Ayushman Health Centre in Chikhli provides a range of essential healthcare services. These include maternal care for pregnant women, postnatal care for mothers, health check-ups for newborns and children under one year, screening for diseases such as diabetes and cancer, and treatment for ENT (ear, nose, throat) ailments. A total of 12 services are currently available to the community.
The NHRC team assessed all these healthcare aspects to arrive at the final score. It is noteworthy that there are 68 Ayushman Health Centres under the Dang District Panchayat. Among these, the Kotba Ayushman Health Centre, located in a remote area, has also received a national-level certificate. Moreover, 22 Ayushman Health Centres are currently undergoing external assessment at the national level.
The assessment process ensures that patients visiting these centres receive quality healthcare services. Seven Ayushman Health Centres are being evaluated to confirm that all necessary facilities are available for patients. The assessment by the NHRC team contributes to the National Health Mission’s goal of providing quality healthcare.
The Chikhli Ayushman Health Centre’s achievement has been celebrated by the local health officials. Ashokbhai S. Chaudhary, the Community Health Officer at the centre, and his entire team received congratulations from Dr. Himanshu Gamait and the district health team. This recognition reflects the hard work and commitment of the health staff in improving healthcare services in the region.
The Ayushman Bharat scheme, also known as PM-JAY, is one of the world’s largest health insurance initiatives. It aims to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to the underprivileged sections of society. Families can receive coverage of up to ₹5 lakh per year for inpatient treatment at public and empanelled private hospitals. The scheme addresses the healthcare needs of low-income families, ensuring they can access essential medical services without financial burden.
With the ongoing assessments of health centres, the aim is to improve the overall quality of healthcare services in the Dang district. The commitment of local health officials and the community’s support are vital in achieving these goals. The recognition of the Chikhli Ayushman Health Centre serves as an encouragement for other health facilities to strive for excellence in healthcare delivery.
