The Children’s Research University held its fifth graduation ceremony at the Gandhinagar Town Hall, presided over by Governor Acharya Devvrat. During the ceremony, 84 students received degrees, including three who were awarded gold medals. The university was established by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to highlight ancient Indian culture and to nurture the future generation. The aim is to educate young couples about the values imparted by ancient sages, thus shaping the future citizens of our families, societies, and nation.
Governor Devvrat emphasized the crucial role of mothers in a child’s development. He stated that after a child’s birth, the mother is the first teacher and plays a significant role in shaping the child’s future. He mentioned how a mother’s behaviour and daily life greatly influence a child’s mental development. He also highlighted the importance of both parents, urging them to guide their children away from distractions like mobile phones and to teach them about books, yoga, and family values.
Education is the next vital stage in a child’s life. The governor pointed out that teachers have a responsibility to create good citizens who can contribute to a developed nation. He noted that teachers spend more time with children than their parents do during the day. Therefore, it is their duty to guide these young minds toward successful lives, helping them overcome challenges.
The governor praised the Children’s Research University for its efforts in providing excellent education. He remarked that the university plays an essential role in shaping today’s children to become future leaders who will benefit society and the nation. He expressed hope that the university would continue to excel and provide the country with outstanding citizens.
Referencing the thoughts of Sigmund Freud, the governor noted that while Freud spoke about education following birth, ancient Indian culture holds that a child’s character begins to form as soon as parents invite the child into their lives.
He congratulated all graduates and urged them to participate wholeheartedly in nation-building efforts. The graduation ceremony at Gandhinagar Town Hall awarded degrees to 84 students, including 58 postgraduate students and 26 Ph.D. candidates.
At the event, Additional Chief Secretary Jainty Ravi recalled the establishment of the Children’s Research University, stating that it has grown into a significant institution. She expressed confidence that it would play a vital role in building a better society, not only at a national level but also internationally.
Additionally, the Chief Secretary mentioned that a successful society is built on the foundation of well-prepared children. If children are nurtured correctly from birth, the society will develop positively.
Teachers at the university are committed to providing education with love, sensitivity, and compassion. The first thousand days of a child’s life are incredibly important, as the lessons learned during this period have a lasting impact. The Children’s Research University aims to provide excellent education alongside play, ensuring that children can contribute significantly to building a developed nation in the future.
The Chancellor of the Children’s Research University, Dr. T.S. Joshi, welcomed all attendees at the ceremony and shared details about the university’s multifaceted activities. During the event, five books, two e-books, and the university’s annual report for 2024-25 were unveiled. Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Children’s Research University and the Dakshinamurti Vidyabhavan in Bhavnagar to promote the overall development of children.
Various dignitaries, including Dr. Harshad Patel from Gujarat Vidyapith, Registrar Nilesh Pandya, and members of the university’s councils, attended the ceremony along with students and their parents. This event showcased the commitment of the Children’s Research University to excellence in education and the development of responsible citizens for the future.
