Ahmedabad Civil Hospital is providing vital support to families during difficult times. Since June 12, various charitable organizations have been working tirelessly to assist relatives visiting the hospital to take care of deceased loved ones. They offer essential services, including food and water, to families in need.
A leader from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh stated that when news of an accident broke, nearly 200 volunteers quickly formed into groups. They set out to clear debris and help injured people reach the hospital. The volunteers worked in shifts to ensure continuous support.
They coordinated care in several areas, including the trauma room and post-mortem room. They also helped with entry to the B.J. Medical College and managed traffic to ensure smooth operations at the hospital. Many volunteers dedicated themselves to this cause, working around the clock without worrying about their families.
Organizations like Kalupur Swaminarayan Temple, Shahibaug BAPS, ISKCON Temple, Mohandas Maharaj Sai Temple, Agarwal Seva Samiti, Ram-Shyam Charitable Trust, and Chhoti Si Asha Trust provided meals, snacks, and beverages to those in need. This community effort highlights the spirit of compassion and solidarity in times of crisis.
The Ahmedabad Civil Hospital is the largest treatment center in Asia. It is known for special diagnosis, therapy, and rehabilitation services. The hospital covers a vast area of 110 acres and is affiliated with prestigious institutions like the Gujarat Medical Council and Gujarat Nursing Council.
Established in 1953 through charitable donations, the hospital has a rich history. It serves approximately 600,000 to 650,000 patients annually, providing care to around 70,000 patients each year. The facility is known for its affordable services, making it accessible to low-income individuals.
Currently, there is a proposal for funding from the World Bank to build a new 9-story building with 2,000 beds. This will increase the hospital’s capacity to 4,800 beds, enhancing its ability to serve the community.
In conclusion, the continuous support from volunteers and organizations at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital shows how communities come together during difficult times. Their dedication makes a significant difference in the lives of families dealing with loss and hardship.
