In Vav Taluka, citizens have raised serious concerns about irregularities at the Bhartwarvas Primary Health Centre. Ketanbhai Shambhubhai Gohil, a local activist, has formally complained to the Health Commissioner in Gandhinagar. He has also addressed the Prime Minister and Chief Medical Officer regarding these issues.
The complaints highlight that the Patient Welfare Committee meetings are not being held regularly. Decisions are being made with questionable agendas, leading to misuse of funds. Additionally, there have been reports of recruitment for Class 4 positions without any public announcements.
These irregularities have prompted calls for criminal charges to be filed. Expecting immediate action, Gohil pointed out that emergency services, especially for pregnant women, are severely lacking. The ambulance service promised to the health centre is often not available.
Staff absenteeism is another major issue. The biometric attendance system is not functioning properly, and the health centre is not adequately staffed. Despite having a laboratory on-site, patients are often referred to private labs for tests. This is not only inconvenient but also raises concerns about the quality of care provided.
While Gohil had previously made oral complaints, he claims that local officials have failed to conduct a proper investigation. He is now urging higher authorities to carry out an independent inquiry. If justice is not served soon, he plans to escalate the matter to the High Court.
Vav Taluka is located in the western part of Gujarat, India. It is primarily known for agriculture, including the cultivation of crops like wheat, millet, and various vegetables. The local population relies heavily on farming and livestock.
In addition to the health issues, Vav Taluka has a rich cultural heritage. There are many temples and places of worship, including the famous Lakha Pir Dada Temple and the Jain Derasar.
The situation at the Bhartwarvas health centre raises significant concerns about patient care and governance. The community is looking for timely action and proper accountability to ensure that health services meet the needs of the people. The residents of Vav Taluka deserve access to effective and reliable healthcare.
Local officials are under pressure to respond to these allegations. The community is hopeful for a swift resolution, as the health of its citizens depends on the services provided by their local health centre. This situation serves as a reminder of the importance of accountability and transparency in public healthcare systems.
