In a significant event held at the Gujarat University Ground, the Gujarat Government hosted the Gujarat Nirman Samman Awards 2025. The event was led by Minister Rishikesh Patel, who oversees Health, Family Welfare, Higher and Technical Education, Medical Education, Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs. This award ceremony celebrated the contributions of various organisations and individuals in the construction sector.
The Builders Association of India (BAI) Gujarat Centre organised the awards. Minister Patel highlighted that the construction sector is a major source of employment in both public and private sectors. He noted that this sector is evolving with time and must adapt to the demands of the future. Patel emphasized the need for innovative and high-tech technologies to propel India towards its goal by 2047.
He stated that participation from all segments of society is crucial for the development of the nation. The government has initiated projects like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, which aims to provide housing for all. By working together, the government and society can drive the country forward.
Minister Patel encouraged everyone to engage in innovation and new technologies. He mentioned that construction projects like the Atal Tunnel and the Chenab Bridge are prime examples of what can be achieved with modern techniques. The awards were presented across various categories including urban construction, rural construction, commercial business builders, and institutional campus builders.
The event also acknowledged contributions in public and private infrastructure buildings, community construction, and civic space construction. The Lifetime Legacy Award was given to honour outstanding long-term contributions.
In attendance were several prominent figures, including former Gujarat Home Minister Rajnikant Patel and BAI officials such as President Rajendra Singh Kamboj and Vice President K. Chandrashekhar Rao.
The Minister concluded by urging every sector of society to contribute to the construction of a new India. He expressed hope that with collective effort, India can achieve remarkable progress by 2047.
