Ahmedabad is facing a significant increase in COVID-19 cases. In just ten days, the number of active cases has risen five times. Now, the total number of active cases in the city is over 1,000. Citizens are concerned about this rapid rise, which has created a climate of fear.
In the last 24 hours, 124 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in Ahmedabad, while 117 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. So far, there have been a total of 1,833 COVID-19 cases in the city. Out of these, 783 patients have recovered. This leaves 1,048 active cases in Ahmedabad.
Most of the active cases, around 800, are located in the western part of the city. This accounts for approximately 80% of the total active cases. Health officials are worried about this concentration of cases. The city has seen four deaths linked to COVID-19, but only four deaths have been officially confirmed by the health department.
On June 4, there were only 81 active cases, but that number spiked to 1,048 by June 14. This shows a dramatic increase within just ten days. The most active cases are reported in the north-western zone of the city. In contrast, the central zone has the least number of active cases.
The state of Gujarat has been facing a continuing rise in cases. For three consecutive days, there have been over 200 new cases reported. However, today there has been a slight reduction. As of June 11, the state recorded 203 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,281. Out of these, 23 patients are receiving hospital care, while most, 1,258, are being treated on an outpatient basis. Today, 149 individuals recovered from COVID-19, and no deaths were reported.
In Ahmedabad, on the same day, 159 new cases were identified. Health officials are urging citizens to remain cautious, especially with the upcoming Jagannath Rath Yatra festival. The Gujarat Health Minister, Rishikesh Patel, has advised individuals with common COVID-19 symptoms to avoid attending the festival. This includes those with cold symptoms, comorbid conditions, or elderly individuals. They should consider staying at home to avoid spreading the virus.
In recent weeks, there has been a noticeable increase in cases, particularly after the IPL final. However, the number of cases has started to decline slightly over the last three days. Citizens are encouraged to stay vigilant and follow health guidelines to help control the virus’s spread.
As the situation develops, it is crucial for Ahmedabad residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions. Health officials are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
