Dahod Celebrates Launch of Modern Electric Locomotive Engine by PM Modi

On May 25, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated various development projects worth over ₹24,000 crores in Dahod, Gujarat. The highlight of the event was the launch of a new electric locomotive engine, named Engine D-9, which has been entirely developed in India. This development marks a significant milestone for India’s manufacturing capabilities, particularly in the railway sector. The electric locomotive factory in Dahod is a symbol of modern engineering and self-reliance in India.
