In a shocking incident, gold and silver ornaments worth ₹1.70 lakh were stolen from a farm near Kumbhalmer, Gujarat. The theft occurred in broad daylight while a family was working in their fields. The family, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been cultivating tomatoes in the area. They left their home at around 8 AM to tend to their crops.

While they were away, unknown thieves broke into their house by forcing open the door. The stolen items included several valuable pieces of jewellery. These were kept in a box inside their home. The thieves made off with a gold necklace with seven pendants, another gold necklace weighing three tolas, and a gold bracelet weighing four tolas. Other stolen items included two pairs of gold earrings, two gold rings, and various other gold ornaments, totalling 30.53 tolas of gold valued at ₹1.50 lakh. Additionally, they stole silver items worth ₹20,000, bringing the total value of the theft to ₹1.70 lakh.

When the family returned home, they found the door broken and their belongings in disarray. They quickly realised that their jewellery had been stolen and immediately reported the incident to the local police.

The police in Gadh have launched an investigation to catch the culprits. They are currently gathering evidence and trying to identify any witnesses. The incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting concerns about safety in rural areas.

Residents are now calling for increased police patrols and security measures to prevent such incidents in the future. This theft has raised awareness about the vulnerability of families in rural areas, especially when they are engaged in agricultural work.
