Dhandhuka Police Seize Illegal Alcohol Shipment Hidden in Mineral Water Bottles

In a significant operation, the Dhandhuka police caught a large shipment of foreign liquor disguised as mineral water. The seizure occurred on a late night patrol near the Limdi Three Roads area. Acting on a tip-off, the police set up a watch and intercepted a truck that appeared suspicious.

The truck, with registration number GJ25T9459, was found carrying a hidden stash of Indian-made foreign liquor. This included 12,144 bottles of various sizes, including 750 ml and 180 ml bottles, as well as beer cans. The total value of the seized goods is estimated to be around ₹39,39,840. Additionally, the police confiscated the truck and mobile phone used in the operation, bringing the total value of the seized items to ₹46,12,340.

The operation highlights the ongoing issue of illegal liquor trade in the region. Police said the liquor was being transported from Daman to Dwarka, a popular tourist destination. The driver, Amarabhai Galabhai Mori, was arrested during the operation. He confessed that he was transporting the alcohol on behalf of another individual from his village, named Nagabhai Rajabhai Kodyatar.

Authorities are taking this matter seriously and have filed a complaint against Mori and the unknown individual involved in the shipment. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the liquor smuggling network.

This incident reflects the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in controlling illegal alcohol trade, which often uses cunning methods to evade detection. The Dhandhuka police have promised to enhance their vigilance and strengthen their efforts to combat such illegal activities in the future.
