Dr P K Mishra, the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, visited the site of the recent plane crash in Ahmedabad. His visit aimed to assess the ongoing relief and rescue operations following the tragic incident. He met with victims and their families at the Civil Hospital, offering support and guidance.

The plane crash occurred near B.J. Medical College, where Dr Mishra reviewed the accident site. At the Civil Hospital, Dr Mishra interacted with grieving families, observed DNA sample matching processes, and instructed officials to ensure comprehensive assistance for the victims. He stressed the need for hospitals to prioritize medical treatment and recovery for the injured.
In Gandhinagar, Dr Mishra visited the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) to evaluate the efforts in collecting DNA samples. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining scientific accuracy while expediting the identification process.
Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Circuit House in Ahmedabad, Dr Mishra discussed ongoing relief, rescue, and investigation efforts with officials from the central and state governments, AAIB, and the Airports Authority of India. The AAIB has initiated a detailed investigation, and since the aircraft was of American manufacture, the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is also conducting a parallel inquiry under international protocols.
Officials confirmed that both the flight data recorder (FDR) and cockpit voice recorder (CVR) have been recovered and secured. Dr Mishra reiterated the Prime Minister’s commitment to providing all possible support to the victims’ families and ensuring a coordinated response among all agencies involved.
