A serious accident occurred on the Shihori-Patan road near Umbri in Kankrej taluka. A dumper, with registration number GJ 05 BX 8357, was travelling from Shihori to Patan. The driver lost control of the steering while passing near the railway bridge close to Umbri village. The dumper crashed into a divider, resulting in injuries to the driver, Thakor Pathuji Udaji, aged 40, who resides in Bhamal taluka, Danta.
Emergency services responded quickly. The injured driver was taken to Shihori Referral Hospital by an ambulance service known as 108. After receiving primary treatment, he was referred for further care. Fortunately, the front part of the dumper was able to detach, which may have prevented more severe damage.
This accident caused a partial blockage of the railway drain in the area. As a result, drivers faced traffic problems while navigating through the scene. The authorities are currently assessing the situation to clear the road and ensure safe passage for all vehicles.
