Drunk Constable Causes Accident in Ahmedabad: Three Injured

In a shocking incident in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad, a police constable driving under the influence of alcohol caused an accident that injured three people. The incident took place near the Bakra Mandi area, raising serious concerns about police conduct and discipline in the region. The constable, identified as Yuvraj Singh Vaghela, reportedly lost control of his vehicle while driving in an intoxicated state.

Witnesses say that Vaghela collided with two to three vehicles, including a roadside vendor’s cart and a two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that the cart was pushed into a nearby house, creating panic among local residents.

Three individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment. Eyewitnesses noted that Vaghela appeared visibly drunk, which contributed to his inability to control the vehicle. This incident has sparked public outrage and raised questions about the accountability of police officers.

The El Division traffic police have launched an investigation and are preparing to take action against Constable Vaghela. They have gathered evidence from the scene and are recording witness statements.

Local residents have expressed their concerns and are demanding strict action against the constable. They stress the need for better adherence to traffic rules and greater responsibility among police personnel to prevent such incidents in the future.

This is not an isolated case. Recently, incidents involving police officers misbehaving or breaking the law have been reported in Vadodara, Amreli, and other cities in Gujarat. Such events are prompting calls for reform within the police department to ensure public safety and trust.

As the investigation continues, the community is watching closely, hoping for justice and a commitment to stronger enforcement of laws to deter such reckless behaviour in the future. The need for accountability among law enforcement is becoming increasingly urgent as these incidents continue to occur, raising concerns about the safety of citizens in their own neighborhoods.
