The results for the Sarpanch seats in 21 village panchayats of Unjha taluka have been announced. The counting of votes began at 9:00 AM at the A.M. Patel School in Aithor Chokdi. A total of 74 candidates contested the elections. There were 7 counting halls and 12 tables set up for the process. Around 95 staff members were involved in counting the votes. To ensure security during the counting, 43 police personnel were deployed.
As the winners were announced, supporters celebrated by throwing Abil Gulal, a traditional powder used during festivals. The victorious candidates rejoiced, while the defeated candidates showed signs of disappointment. This led to a mix of emotions, where joy and sorrow were both evident in the atmosphere.
The counting took place in four rounds amid rainy weather. In the first round, the counting for villages such as Ranchhodpura, Vanagala, Navapura, Dabi, Varvada, Vishol, and Khatashna was conducted. The second round included counting for Karanpur, Aithor, Surapura, Shihi, Mehervada, Kamli, and Tundav. The third round covered Karli, Kantharavi, Maktupur, Dasaj, Kahoda, and Sunak. Finally, the fourth round was for the Upera village panchayat.
Supporters eagerly awaited the results outside the school, looking for any news and updates about their preferred candidates.
