Ex-Employee Accuses Ahmedabad Firm of Threats and Abuse

A former employee of an Ahmedabad-based company has made serious allegations against two senior executives. The 30-year-old man, deepbhai Himanshubhai Bhatt, claims he faced verbal abuse, casteist slurs, and threats involving a licensed firearm during his time at Egniol Company.

Bhatt worked as an administrative executive for nearly a decade. He filed a police complaint at the Bodakdev police station against Vishal Dineshbhai Brahmbhatt, the owner of the company, and CEO Johnson Mathew. The complaint details a troubling pattern of harassment that began after Bhatt raised concerns about complaints he had lodged with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

On May 13, during a confrontation with Mathew, Bhatt alleges he was verbally abused and threatened. He claims Mathew used caste-based slurs and said he would shoot him with a firearm. This incident left Bhatt feeling unsafe and targeted at his workplace.

The situation escalated with another confrontation on June 17, when Bhatt was insulted and subsequently fired by Vishal Brahmbhatt. He noted that other employees are aware of the toxic atmosphere at Egniol Company and could support his claims.

Following Bhatt’s complaint, the police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). An investigation is currently underway, as authorities seek to gather further evidence regarding the allegations.

Bhatt’s case highlights issues of workplace harassment and discrimination, particularly concerning caste-based abuse, which remains a significant problem in various sectors across India. The legal system’s response to such allegations is crucial for ensuring justice and accountability.

As the investigation continues, it remains to be seen what actions will be taken against the accused. Bhatt’s courage in coming forward may encourage others who have faced similar situations to speak out.

The case has drawn attention, and many are watching closely to see how it unfolds. Workplace harassment is a pressing issue that affects many individuals, and cases like Bhatt’s are vital for raising awareness and demanding change. The outcomes not only impact the individuals involved but also set precedents for handling such serious allegations in the future.

In a society where caste discrimination persists, it is essential for companies to foster inclusive environments and for the legal system to address these issues with the seriousness they deserve. For now, Bhatt’s case serves as a reminder of the importance of standing up against injustice and the need for systemic change in workplace culture across India.
