Excitement Grows for By-Elections in Ambaji and Danta Talukas

The upcoming by-elections in Ambaji and Danta Talukas are generating great enthusiasm among voters. Elections will take place on June 22 for 10 complete gram panchayats and 29 gram panchayats in the region. The Danta Mamlatdar office is seeing a heavy crowd as candidates fill out forms for sarpanch and ward member positions.

This time, voting will be conducted using ballot papers. It has been eight years since the last elections in the Ambaji gram panchayat, adding to the excitement surrounding this electoral event. However, candidates appear to be less enthusiastic this time around.

So far, eight forms for sarpanch positions and 36 forms for ward members have been submitted. Interestingly, no forms have been submitted in the Senbalpani and Bhachadi gram panchayats. The last date for submitting forms is June 9, and it is expected that two to three panchayats may have candidates by then.

In Ambaji, previously, there were 12 to 15 candidates for the sarpanch position, but this time, only three forms have been filled out. For the 18 wards, a total of 34 forms have been submitted, with wards 18 and 5 having no submissions yet. The deadline for filling out forms is June 9, which may lead to an increase in submissions that day. The final list of candidates will be announced after 3 PM on that day.

Voters are being advised to take precautions as voting will be done by ballot paper, according to D. Rawal, the Taluka Development Officer of Danta. It is important for voters to be aware of the election process and to ensure they are prepared to cast their votes.

This election is crucial for the local governance structure, as gram panchayats play an essential role in managing rural issues and development. The enthusiasm shown by voters indicates their desire to participate actively in the democratic process, despite the lack of candidates in some areas. Local leaders hope that more candidates will emerge as the deadline approaches, ensuring competitive elections that reflect the community’s needs and aspirations.

In conclusion, with only a few days left until the elections, the excitement among voters is palpable. The hope is that this electoral process will lead to a more engaged community and effective governance in the Ambaji and Danta Talukas. Voter participation is vital, and the upcoming elections are a chance for the community to voice its needs and elect representatives who can bring about positive change.
