Fake Ticket Collector Caught at Ahmedabad Railway Station

On the night of June 2, 2025, around 10 PM, a suspicious man was caught by the Railway Security Force at Ahmedabad Railway Station. He was dressed in a ticket collector’s uniform and was seen on the foot over bridge at the Sabarmati side of the station. The security officer, Piush Chaudhary, noticed him and questioned him. The man could not provide satisfactory answers. When taken to the post for further questioning, he identified himself as Shiv Shankar Jaiswal, a 45-year-old resident of Sundarpur, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. During the investigation, he admitted to impersonating a ticket collector to check passengers’ tickets and collect money through QR codes. He had previously been seen doing the same at Ahmedabad station on May 30, 2025. At the time of his arrest, he did not possess any valid railway identification or EFT. He only had an ATM card and an Aadhar card. It was revealed that he targeted uneducated passengers and laborers at various railway stations, claiming ticket faults or offering waiting list passengers a berth. He wore a mask to hide his identity. The suspect has been handed over to the GRP for further action. The railway administration urges passengers to show their tickets only to official ticket inspectors and to report any suspicious activities to railway police or relevant authorities immediately.
