On June 12, a farmers’ conference will be held in Bardoli, Gujarat, to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This event is significant as it marks the conclusion of the nationwide agricultural initiative launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 29. The conference will take place at the BAPS temple complex in Bardoli at 10:00 AM. It will be presided over by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and will also feature the presence of Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Minister of Agriculture Raghavji Patel.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan will officially conclude the agricultural initiative in Bardoli, following its national launch in Odisha on May 29. This initiative has involved over four lakh farmers across 31 districts in Gujarat, with 2,250 rural clusters participating.
The conference will also see the launch of a Centre of Excellence for sugarcane and the inauguration of 14 godowns with a total storage capacity of 25,000 metric tons. These facilities are expected to enhance agricultural practices and support local farmers.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Iron Man of India, played a vital role in the country’s independence movement and is celebrated for his efforts in uniting the nation. His leadership during the Bardoli Satyagraha in 1928 is particularly noted for demonstrating the power of collective action among farmers against oppressive taxation.
This year’s celebration is not only a tribute to Patel’s legacy but also a reminder of the importance of agriculture in India’s economy. The conference is expected to attract numerous farmers, agricultural experts, and government officials, fostering discussions on improving farming practices and technology adoption in rural areas.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the latest agricultural technologies and practices that can enhance productivity and sustainability in farming. The event will also focus on the appropriate use of micronutrients and other agricultural technologies to empower farmers.
This celebration of Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary is an important occasion for the people of Gujarat and the entire nation. It reflects the government’s commitment to supporting farmers and developing the agricultural sector, which is crucial for India’s growth and development.
As the event approaches, excitement is building among the farming community, who see this as a chance to engage with government leaders and contribute their voices to the future of agriculture in India.
