Food and Drug Administration Seizes 405 kg of Suspicious Ghee in Gujarat

In Gujarat, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has taken strong action against unsafe food products. Recently, they seized 405 kg of suspicious ghee worth approximately ₹2.36 lakh. This operation took place in Patan after receiving a tip-off about the transportation of questionable ghee.

The authorities inspected a transport vehicle from Patan Roadlines. They discovered multiple batches of ghee from three different suppliers. These suppliers were identified as Modi Dipesh Sharadbhai, Ghivala Sandipkumar Rasiklal, and Ghivala Babulal Chimnalal. Samples of the ghee were taken for testing in a government laboratory.

The FDA is committed to ensuring that citizens have access to pure and unadulterated food products. After the laboratory tests, legal actions will follow under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006, if any violations are found. The news of the FDA’s operation has caused concern among traders in the ghee market, especially those selling adulterated or unsafe food items.

The FDA plays a crucial role in maintaining food quality and safety. It monitors both food and drug standards across the state.
