The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Gujarat has taken strong action to ensure food safety. Recently, they seized 405 kilograms of suspicious ghee valued at ₹2.36 lakh in Patan. This action comes after a tip-off regarding the transport of questionable ghee. The FDA aims to provide citizens with pure and unadulterated food products.
On the day of the operation, FDA officials inspected a transport vehicle belonging to Patan Roadlines. They discovered three suppliers from Ghee Market in Patan: Modi Dipesh Sharadbhai, Ghewala Sandipkumar Rasiklal, and Ghewala Babulal Chimnalal. Samples of ghee were taken from these suppliers for laboratory testing.
The seized ghee is currently under examination at a government lab. The FDA will take legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006 based on the lab results. The news of the FDA’s actions has caused panic among traders selling adulterated and unfit food products in the city. Citizens have praised the FDA for their efforts to stop such activities.

Out of 11,023 samples tested, 781 were found unsatisfactory, leading to legal actions against those responsible for the adulteration.
