At Himmatnagar railway station, police have arrested three people for smuggling foreign liquor. The suspects include a woman, her engineer nephew, and a compounder. The police seized 60 bottles of foreign liquor worth ₹1.64 lakh from a first-class coach of the train coming from Agra Cantt to Asarva. The total value of the goods confiscated, including cash, jewellery, and mobile phones, amounted to ₹2.74 lakh. The arrested individuals are Bharati Ben Dhanwani (54) from Agra, IT engineer Jashkumar Ratiya (24) from Junagadh, and compounder Milankumar Makwana (26) from Junagadh. The court has granted a one-day remand for engineer Jashkumar, while Bharati Ben and Milankumar have been released on bail. The accused were allegedly transporting this liquor from Agra to Rajkot.

Himmatnagar is a city in the Sabarkantha district of Gujarat, located in western India. It serves as the headquarters of Himmatnagar taluka and has a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1426 by Ahmad Shah I. The city was initially named Ahmadnagar but was later renamed Himmatnagar in 1912. The area is known for its educational institutions, including the Himmatnagar Medical College and various Jain temples. The population of Himmatnagar, according to the 2011 census, was 81,137, with a literacy rate of 87.15%.

In addition to the liquor seizure, the railway police have also confiscated suspicious cash amounting to ₹15 lakh from a 72-year-old man at Himmatnagar railway station. The man, Natwarlal Kalidas Bhavsar, was travelling from Dungarpur to Asarva and failed to provide satisfactory answers regarding the cash found in his bag. Following routine checks, the police initiated legal proceedings against him.

The railway police are now increasing surveillance on trains following a recent terrorist attack in the region. This has led to heightened security measures to ensure the safety of passengers.

Moreover, a troubling incident occurred when eight Muslim children who ran away from a madrasa were found at Himmatnagar railway station. The children, aged between 10 and 14, were travelling on a train to Udaipur. The police suspect that they might have faced mental harassment at the madrasa. They were taken to Himmatnagar civil hospital for a medical check-up, and their statements are being recorded to understand their situation better. The police are also questioning the madrasa operators who came to collect the children.

With multiple incidents occurring at the railway station, local authorities are working hard to maintain safety and order in the area.
