A shocking case of fraud has emerged in Surat, Gujarat, where a young man lost ₹22 lakh to a fake immigration agency. The incident involves Sky Macrone Immigration, which promised to provide work permits for Canada. The victim, Rajan Gajjar, works at a pharma company and was lured by an advertisement on Facebook. He contacted the agency and visited their office in Surat. There, he met four individuals: Jenil Prajapati, Rajesh Shah, Ankita Mistry, and Vikas Mistry. They promised him a work visa and a job in Canada, asking for ₹25 lakh in total costs. However, after taking ₹22 lakh from Rajan, they failed to deliver on their promises. The Sahakar Nagar police in Sola have registered a case against these individuals and are investigating the matter. The incident highlights the risks faced by individuals seeking work abroad and the need for caution when dealing with immigration agencies. Many people are eager to work overseas, especially in countries like Canada, where job opportunities are appealing. Unfortunately, scams like this can lead to significant financial loss. Authorities urge anyone considering immigration to thoroughly research agencies and verify their credentials before making any payments. The police are continuing their investigation into the matter and hope to bring the fraudsters to justice. In the meantime, victims of similar scams are encouraged to come forward and report their experiences to help prevent others from falling prey to such schemes.
