A young man from Jamnagar, Gujarat, has fallen victim to a fraudulent scheme involving three trucks and a car. The victim, Gangabhai Thababhai Kodyatar, is a 34-year-old transport businessman. He reported the incident to the police, naming the accused as Rajak Sopari, also known as Daudbhai Chavda, Amin Notiya, and Ram Bhimshi Nandaniya.
According to Gangabhai, the accused promised him lucrative contracts. They claimed they would secure contracts for him, allowing him to rent out three trucks for a price of one lakh rupees each. They also assured him that they would cover all maintenance costs. Trusting them, Gangabhai agreed to rent three trucks and one Scorpio car.
The truck numbers were GJ-07-RP-933, GJ-36-EX-813, GJ-36-EX-813, and the Scorpio was registered as GJ-07-9184. Initially, payments were made for the rentals, but soon after, the accused seized the trucks without returning any money.
Additionally, Gangabhai had given the accused 15 lakh rupees for a loan in the transport business. Despite repeated requests for repayment, they failed to return the money. Feeling cheated, Gangabhai approached the police.
The police have registered a case against the accused and are currently investigating the matter. This incident highlights the increasing number of fraud cases in the transport sector in Gujarat.
Local residents are shocked by the news, and many are calling for stricter regulations to protect people from such scams. The police have urged citizens to be cautious when entering contracts and to verify the credentials of the parties involved.
