The operation aimed to curb property-related crimes in the region. Following information received by the police, they examined CCTV footage. They identified a suspicious auto rickshaw with registration number GJ27U9260. This led them to the arrest of two men and one woman at a location in Harij.

The suspects had earlier tricked a couple by offering them a ride in the auto rickshaw. While they were inside, the gang managed to steal 24.73 grams of gold jewellery valued at ₹207,360. The thieves also took ₹9,000 in cash and two mobile phones worth ₹5,500. All the stolen items were recovered by the police.

The police are now taking legal action against the arrested individuals. They are also investigating whether the gang has committed similar crimes in the past. The swift action of the police has been praised by local residents, who feel safer knowing that such gangs are being targeted.

The Patan police chief, V.K. Nayini, stated that they are committed to ensuring the safety of citizens. He encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities to help the police combat crime effectively. The authorities continue to work diligently to maintain peace and security in the area.

This incident serves as a reminder for passengers to be cautious when using auto rickshaws and to keep an eye on their belongings. The police are urging everyone to stay alert and report any unusual behaviour to prevent such thefts in the future.

As investigations continue, the Patan LCB is strategising further measures to enhance security and deter criminal activities. They are also planning community awareness programs to educate the public about safety tips while travelling.

In conclusion, the recent bust of this gang highlights the importance of vigilance and community cooperation in tackling crime. Residents are optimistic that with the ongoing efforts of the police, such incidents will decrease significantly, making Patan a safer place for everyone.
