The Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) portal will commence its admission process for various undergraduate courses on May 29, 2025. Students who have submitted their applications but have not completed the verification process will be contacted via SMS and WhatsApp on May 22 and 23, 2025, to ensure they complete this step.
The last date to apply for the first phase of admissions through the GCAS portal was May 21, 2025, with verification deadlines set for May 23, 2025. The admission process consists of four rounds, and the dates for each round are available on the GCAS portal.
Students must log into their GCAS accounts on the specified dates to confirm their admission offers. They need to choose their preferred university, college, program, and main subject from the offers provided by the respective institutions. Once they confirm their choice with an OTP, they must visit the university or college in person with the offer letter and original documents to finalize their admission. If a student does not confirm their admission within the dates mentioned in the offer letter, they will lose their right to that seat.
For students who submitted their applications for the first phase but did not manage to get their applications verified, the government has advised them to complete the verification on May 22 and 23, 2025. However, if they cannot verify their applications by these dates, they will not be able to participate in the first phase of admissions.
Students need not worry, as they can still verify their applications during the second phase of admissions. The applications of those who complete their verification during the second phase will be considered for admission.
Online registration for the second phase of admissions will begin on May 24, 2025. The complete timeline for the second phase will be announced soon, as per the official communication from the Gujarat Common Admission Services.
As of May 16, 2025, over 208,000 students had registered on the GCAS portal, with 122,619 choosing their college programs. A total of 117,999 students have submitted their online applications. The GCAS has set up nearly 1,000 free form-filling and verification centres to assist students, and around 50,000 students and parents have benefitted from this service.
The GCAS portal is crucial for students seeking admissions into various undergraduate courses in Gujarat, making the process easier and more accessible. The education system in Gujarat continues to evolve, providing students with the necessary resources to pursue higher education effectively.
For the academic year 2025-26, the GCAS portal offers students a streamlined approach to their admission process, ensuring they have the opportunity to secure a place in their desired courses. It is essential for students to keep track of the important dates and complete all necessary steps to avoid missing out on their desired educational opportunities.
