On June 4, 2025, the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Business Women Committee held a workshop titled “Influence with Image Building” in Ahmedabad. The event aimed to help women enhance their professional image.
Manasi Patel, the founder of Tenth Muse Image Management, was the chief guest. She emphasised the importance of first impressions. “The first impression is the last impression,” she stated, highlighting how crucial it is in business settings.
Prachi Patwari, chairperson of the BWC, welcomed attendees and stressed that a person’s image has a significant impact on how they are perceived by others. She noted that non-verbal communication is just as important as spoken words in conversations.
Asha Vaghasiya, co-chairperson of the GCCI BWC, introduced Manasi Patel. She described Patel as a versatile personality who has excelled in various fields. Apart from being an image management expert, she has also worked in telecom sales for over 25 years with renowned companies like Vodafone and Tata Communications. Additionally, Patel is an accomplished horse rider and classical dancer.
During her speech, Patel discussed how personal appearance, attire, grooming, and body language contribute to a person’s first image. She explained that these elements play a vital role in shaping a professional image and building trust.
Patel introduced participants to the concept of the “Image Cycle” and discussed the impact of non-verbal cues. She also shared insights on international style scales relevant to Indian business attire. Participants engaged in interactive exercises that focused on self-assessment and personal transformation goals for better image management.
The workshop concluded with a thank-you note from Gopi Trivedi, head of the knowledge series at GCCI BWC. The event was a valuable opportunity for women to learn and network, enhancing their professional skills and confidence in the workplace. Effective image management can lead to increased self-confidence and productivity, making such workshops essential for women in business.
Overall, the GCCI’s initiative to host this workshop reflects their commitment to empowering women in the business community of Gujarat. The positive feedback from attendees shows the need for more events that focus on professional development and image management.
