GLS University Welcomes New Fintech Batch with Exciting Orientation

Ahmedabad’s GLS University hosted an inspiring orientation program on July 11, 2025, for the first-year students of the Fintech batch for 2025-26. The event aimed to welcome the new batch and provide detailed information about the educational and extracurricular opportunities at the university. The program kicked off with a heartfelt prayer performed by talented students from the university’s music club, followed by an enthusiastic rendition of the GLS anthem, which filled the atmosphere with positive energy.

The event also highlighted the remarkable academic achievements of alumni, creating an encouraging environment for the newly admitted students. The Dean of the Faculty of Commerce shared valuable insights about the university’s accomplishments and achievements, offering optimistic guidance to the new students.

A key attraction of the day was the session featuring successful alumni from various fields who shared their experiences. Kunal Shah, a former student of the Faculty of Commerce, described the university as a hub for innovation, where new ideas are nurtured, and entrepreneurial students receive great support. He candidly shared his experiences during his academic journey and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the confidence, guidance, and opportunities provided by the college.

CA Junail Sanghvi, a senior partner at Deloitte, discussed the growth of the fintech sector and the vast opportunities it presents. He noted that Deloitte, a well-established consulting firm with over 150 years of history, employs one in every four Indian professionals. He explained that fintech has become an integral part of daily life, whether through digital payments or online shopping.

CA Aditiya Sheth from Zelle shared insights about the rapid expansion of the fintech industry in India. He mentioned that there are currently over 21 fintech companies operating in the country, and the potential for growth in this sector is ever-increasing.

Throughout the program, students received information about various university clubs that organize workshops and events throughout the year. These activities provide students with opportunities for holistic development beyond their academic studies.

The orientation program was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community among the new students.
