In a special event held at the Shri Dwarka Gaushala in Dwarka, Gujarat, the Governor of the state, Acharya Devvrat, honoured cow service workers. The Governor spoke passionately about the importance of cows in Indian culture and agriculture. He highlighted that India has a rich history of agriculture, referring to it as the land of sages and farmers.
During his speech, the Governor emphasised that cows are highly revered in ancient texts, including the Vedas and Puranas. He noted that cows provide milk throughout their lives, serving society selflessly. The Governor stated, “The milk of the cow is the best of all. It contains qualities that nurture and protect us.”
He pointed out that modern technology has made many changes in agriculture, but we must not forget the value of cows. He argued that the protection of cows is essential for the welfare of society and the nation. He said, “If you want to uplift your home, society, and nation, the only solution is to protect cows. In today’s world, as diseases rise, cow’s milk has been scientifically proven to help prevent many ailments.”
The Governor also expressed concerns about the environmental impact of chemical farming. He warned that excessive use of chemical fertilisers and pesticides harms nature. “Chemical farming is like slow poison. It alters our climate and damages the environment,” he said. He urged everyone to adopt natural farming practices, which he believes are beneficial for both health and nature.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for launching the ‘National Natural Farming Mission,’ encouraging farmers to shift from chemical to natural farming. He added that if farmers protect and nurture cows, they can achieve economic independence through cow-related activities.
The event also included the presentation of mementoes to the Governor by notable personalities, expressing gratitude for his support. Girishbhai Shah, a member of the institution, shared insights about various cow service activities currently taking place in Gujarat.
The Governor honoured donors and cow service workers, recognising their contributions to society. Ramjibhai Majithiya, another leader of the institution, expressed thanks to all attendees.
During the visit, the Governor toured the gaushala and held discussions with trustees and cow service workers about cow conservation and management. District Collector Rajesh Tanna and other officials were also present at the event.
This event coincides with the upcoming ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah Gyan Yajna,’ which will take place from June 5 to June 11, 2025, at the Shri Dwarka Gaushala. The Yajna aims to promote cow welfare and community service.
The ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Saptah’ is expected to attract many devotees, providing them with a spiritual opportunity to serve cows and gain merit. This initiative is not only about cow protection but also about promoting unity and service in society.
The Governor’s visit and the events planned will significantly contribute to raising awareness about the importance of cows in Indian culture and agriculture, encouraging a sustainable approach to farming and animal care.
